2.3.5 – Navigation and Themes
NetScore now makes use of UINavigationController app wide.
It’s hard to believe, but NetScore was created back before iOS had many of the built in Navigation UI elements that it does now. This update brings us up to speed, leaving behind the legacy navigation and embracing the built in iOS Navigation and gives us access to a lot of built in features that everyone takes for granted on iOS now.
NetScore has always had themes. This update brings a new ThemeController and Theme Picker which handles theming app wide both for the older custom UIViews and also the newer built in UIViews. This should keep themes working fine as I slowly move the app over to native UIViews to replace the older custom views.
The Theme Picker now has its own screen (Settings -> Theme Selector). We’ve also updated themes in general to offer a bit more customisation and also 4 NEW themes!
By default the app will now launch with the NEW NetScore Green theme.
You might also notice some updated icons on the main menu. All part of making the app more welcoming and bring a bit of joy.
I’ve expanded the testing behind the scenes which found a few long standing bugs which have been fixes. Also a few bugs that have been reported by users.
Also a few user interface improvements including updating the icons used, added a new netball court graphic to the main menu screen, added a way to delete multiple items from the Results Centre (select all or select a few) and more.
The next update will be around backing up your app data including full backup and restore. The idea is to then allow more people into the testing phase of development without any concerns about them loosing their data.
Thanks for the continual support and suggestions.
